G-Eazy started his career as a record producer while studying at Loyola University in New Orleans. He gained early recognition in the East Bay Area hip-hop scene collaborating with artists like Lil B Crohn and The Cataracs. He was part of a local group called “The Bay Boyz” and released music on Myspace.

In 2008, G-Eazy faced a tough crowd at a college talent show but caught the attention of Matt Bauerschmidt who signed him to The Revels Group a new music management company.
